Campaign Franklinton

CELC is growing...

We are excited to announce the location of our fifth site in Central Ohio! Our fifth center will be located in Frankinton where CELC previously served the community for 87 years.

The New Center Will...

  • Serve 100 children in a new state of the art 11,000 square foot facility.
  • Increase children served by 32%. The new center will allow CELC to serve over 400 children per year in central Ohio.
  • Include a sick childcare service that will allow parents one less barrier to success.
  • Partner with Fortuity Calling, a social enterprise call center, to provide hundreds of well-paying jobs to Franklinton residents.

A Past and Future in Franklinton

CELC has a rich history in the Franklinton community.
  • Franklinton is one of the poorest neighborhoods in Franklin County with a median income of $19.2K and a 14.6% unemployment rate.
  • Franklinton children living in poverty stand the most to gain from high-quality early childhood education, but they have the least access to it.
  • Government subsidies help, but the qualifying conditions and income limitations often leave families of the working poor with few options.
Together, with Fortuity Calling we have the opportunity to return to Franklinton.
